Our Company Auditions will be held June 6th. All Company members are required to attend The Summer Intensive.

The Foundation Academy's Art & Summer Camp
Camp Hours 8:30 am - 4:30 pm M-F
Overview: During the day we will have art & craft classes, green projects, play fun, educational activities, and art-related games. We will take breaks, eat snacks and go for walks. Students are to bring a bag lunch from home.

Specific Program Descriptions:
Kids Camp (Ages 4-7) Activities to include working in the garden, walking, and water play. Educate and reinforce through centers, free play as well as arts and crafts.
Cartoon Drawing Students will learn the basics of cartoon drawing skills, story and frame development. Anime will be studied including fan-subbed anime seen before American release, a review of cell painting and Manga discussion and techniques.
Pottery Camp (2 weeks) Ages 8-17 years Week 1 Students will learn basic clay and ceramic methods including slab, coil, pinch pots, and abstract construction to create their own pieces. Real messy and lots of fun! (Cost $275.00 for 2 weeks)
Collage & Printmaking Students will study the concepts of space, line, form texture and color. Experimental use of different mediums will be explored as they produce works in printmaking and collage.
Painting Each student will work in acrylics to learn the process of painting a composition. They will work through out the stages of planning, canvas preparation, blocking in their colors and on to finishing touches.
Be The Artist Pretend you are famous, as a group a famous artist is studied. Then each child will reproduce one of the artist's works in an effort to appreciate his style.
Soccer Camp Soccer camp is offered for boys and girls. Technical work and individual improvement in basic skills will be emphasized.
Go Green & Recycled Art (Ages 8-17 years) Students will create sculptures and two-dimensional artwork, using recycled or organic materials. Get ready to have tons of fun. Collect your own recyclables.
Cultural Reproduction Around the world we go! The art of different cultures will be studied with works of art from each culture being reproduced.
Music Production Students will learn the basics of music production, music theory, audio engineering, music composition and music technology. Students will produce songs on a CD to take home. (Cost $175.00 space limited)

Girls Inc. has several summer day camps around the city of Jacksonville that encourage girls ages 6 to 18 to think freely and be themselves. Our day camp activities include themed weekly activities, Girls Inc. workshops, cultural awareness, physical activity, swimming, field trips, to name a few.A hot lunch, afternoon snack and camp T-shirt are also included.

Girls Inc. of Jacksonville's Specialty Camps
Eureka! Science Camp
Girls Inc. encourages girls to think outside the box when it comes to career options. Eureka! is a component of Girls Inc. Operation SMARTsm (Science Math and Relative Technology). During this two-week adventure, girls will be exposed to marine biology, aviation and space science, engineering, construction science, horticultural and various other fields through instruction from Jacksonville University Professors, students and other women in the field. Surfing, swimming and weightlifting will also be part of the adventure. An overnight experience is available from June 26th to June 27th for an extra fee.

Sporty Girls!
Sporty Girls! is designed to introduce or enhance sports skills in the areas of volleyball, soccer, basketball and softball over a two-week period. Girls will learn the importance of teamwork, proper nutrition, healthy living and having a positive outlook on life. In addition to the sports and life skills, girls will play organized competitive games throughout the week. Sports enthusiasts in the field will provide instruction. No sports experience is necessary to enjoy this adventure.

Lights, Camera, Action!
Lights, Camera, Action! will provide girls an opportunity to explore the field of media over the duration of two weeks. Girls will go through a component of Girls Inc. Media Literacy?, Girls Take Another Looksm. Girls will explore the variety of media available to them; practice deconstructing obvious and hidden media messages; question the media's focus on appearance and narrow definition of beauty; experiment with character development and storyboarding; consider the relevance of news media; learn how to influence the media by communicating their opinion to those in power; and explore careers in a variety of media fields. Girls will also have the opportunity to record Public Service Announcements on "Cyberbullying" via radio and television as well as writing editorials addressing this issue. Instruction is provided by various media personalities from the Jacksonville area.

A fun and educational environment where children's emotional and imaginative development will be enhanced, and their confidence and self esteem levels increased, through their participation in drama activities. The First Act is offers Creative Drama Camps during holidays from school
Camp activities will focus on imaginative play, dress-up, storytelling, improvisation, music, movement and
puppetry. Theatre games will feature daily as a way of introducing children to theatrical concepts, as a
vehicle for working with their voices and bodies and to practice working as a team. The goal of these camps is
to provide experiences to the children, through the use of dramatic activities, that are age-appropriate and
allow them the freedom to experiment without the pressure to perform. There will be a short show-case at the end of each program for family and friends
