Let's Get it Write! Handwriting Club
Wolfson Children's Rehabilitation Services, through it's Let's Get it Write! Handwriting Club, offers a series of multi-sensory classes designed to help children tackle the complex demands of handwriting. Based on developmental principles, each small group is led by an occupational therapist. Through songs, games, and arts and crafts, children are taught the most efficient ways to coordinate the vision, hearing and fine motor skills necessary to produce legible written work. The weekly classes last approximately 1 hour and run for 8 weeks. We hold classes three times a year in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. For more information visit our website or contact us at 346-0394.
Aquatics
Wolfson Children's Rehabilitation Services offers Pediatric Aquatic Therapy in an indoor heated pool at the Yates Family YMCA. Sessions are offered on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 2:00- 4:30 PM. Physical and occupational therapists use the properties of the water, such as buoyancy, resistance, and hydrostatic pressure, to help children from 3-18 years of age who have movement, sensory processing and orthopedic impairments.
Pool based therapy can help a child develop balance, strength, endurance and postural control. Aquatic therapy is also beneficial for pain reduction, decreasing edema, improving coordination, sensory modulation and psychosocial skills. Aquatic therapy can be a fun, age-appropriate alternative or adjunct to more traditional clinic-based therapy. For information visit our website or contact us at 346-0394.
